Coin/COA Mismatch in 1 oz American Eagle?
I have been contemplating the sale of a $50 American Eagle Proof given to me as a gift many years ago, and in examining the contents of the case more closely, I've noticed that while both the spine of the case and the coin itself read '1987' (MCMLXXXVII) the COA reads 1986. How unusual is this? Will it cause any difficulties at sale?

It may and it may not. I can not find anything about this problem. Someone may have had both eagles and mixed up the COA’s. In the long run it should not matter for you are selling a coin not the COA. In the end you can always have it graded by one of the grading services and throw the COA away.
