What is the cheapest way to sell my American Eagle gold coins?

I have 10 one ounce 2008 American Gold Eagle gold coins that I want to sell.

I could go to the broker I bought it from, but he charges 3% commission.

Are there anywhere else that I can sell it for cheaper commission?

You need to call around to several coin shops in your area.

Bullion coins are in demand now. You should be able to get spot or above.

I sold some last week for $ 10 over spot. The current spot price is about $ 1,345, but changes throughout the day. I would not take less than spot. Call around and see who is paying the most, I would stay away from a broker. That sounds like a ripoff. Do a google search for "gold bullion + your city". The local coin shops pay the most. The spot price may go up or down by the time you drive over to the shop, but at least you know who is paying the most over spot.

I have looked on all kinds of coin websites and can't find any information about a gold walking liberty with no date. It is in very good condition.

Proof Gold Eagles are the version of the popular American Gold Eagle coin, the United States' official gold bullion coin. As is the standard procedure for other proof editions, the Proof Gold Eagle is put through a specialized minting procedure utilizing specialized dies to create a highly detailed specimen. The mint uses lustrous coin blanks which a manually inserted into the presses. They are then where struck numerous times as to ensure that the softly frosted images on each coin are highly detailed, appearing as if to almost float above a mirrored background. The high attention to detail given to each proof eagle is what makes the coin a highly sought-after collector's item, as well as an investment to a portfolio containing precious metals.

When shipped from the Mint, the Proof Gold Eagle arrives packaged in an elegant, dark blue velvet presentation case. An official Certificate of Authority from the United Stated Mint is also included, stating the government’s guarantee of the coin’s weight, purity and stated gold content for every proof coin that it produces.

My boyfriend collects coins and I was hoping to add something to his collection for his birthday. I don't know much about it, but I know he only has one gold coin and he wants to expand that. I want to get him something interesting as well as valuable. He wanted a $50 gold proof with an Indian on one side and a buffalo on the other. Its .999 pure gold MS70 and it's going for 700 dollars atleast online. I can't afford something that expensive.

I am looking for a list of coins and hopefully links so I can see what they look like. Preferably gold and U.S. coins. Thanks!

Will the current market price for this coin which is currently $2300, drop when the economy recovers? Should I sell it now when the price for gold is at the highest? Will the value of this coin keep on increasing since it has the lowest mintage of all gold buffalo ever minted. 1999 $25 dollar Proof Gold coin..Is this coin a “very rare” coin? On Ebay it’s “BuyItNow” price is $2,355!!!?

I was recently looking at currency items on Ebay, and I came across a 1999 $25 dollar Proof Gold coin that was for sale, and noticed it had a "Buy It Now" price of $2,355 dollars. I am fairly new to collecting coins, so I was hoping someone could please possibly help me out with a question I had about that coin. Is this coin a "very rare" coin? Is it because it's been graded by chance? Or is it a rare coin as far as the year? I have searched all over the web trying to find this out, and realized several sites that deal in gold coins had several $25.00 gold coins for sell, but the 1999 coin wasn't available in their lists, they had surrounding years, but skipped 1999. Is this coin a "very rare" coin? I would greatly appreciate your help & response to this, It's driving me crazy trying to find out an honest response by searching the web, It interest me because i believe i may also have this coin in a collection i have in storage, but mine has not been graded. How do you go about purchasing gold coins?

The treasury website offers 1oz gold coins for sale.
Gold dealers tell me that the treasury sells only something called "proof" coins which are more expensive.
Can anyone help with this confusion?
