The Collectors Gold Eagle Proof Coin

Proof Gold Eagles are the version of the popular American Gold Eagle coin, the United States' official gold bullion coin. As is the standard procedure for other proof editions, the Proof Gold Eagle is put through a specialized minting procedure utilizing specialized dies to create a highly detailed specimen. The mint uses lustrous coin blanks which a manually inserted into the presses. They are then where struck numerous times as to ensure that the softly frosted images on each coin are highly detailed, appearing as if to almost float above a mirrored background. The high attention to detail given to each proof eagle is what makes the coin a highly sought-after collector's item, as well as an investment to a portfolio containing precious metals.

When shipped from the Mint, the Proof Gold Eagle arrives packaged in an elegant, dark blue velvet presentation case. An official Certificate of Authority from the United Stated Mint is also included, stating the government’s guarantee of the coin’s weight, purity and stated gold content for every proof coin that it produces.

The process starts when Mint workers manually feed specially burnished gold coin blanks into coin presses that have been adapted with modified dies. Through careful inspection, each coin is checked for any defects, and each coin is then carefully sealed inside of a rigid plastic capsule for protection and preservation. The coins are then placed into a beautiful velvet presentation case and packaged with a genuine Certificate of Authenticity. Each Gold Proof Eagle is guaranteed by the United States Government for their weight, purity and stated gold content. Available in four sizes – 1oz, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, and 1/10 ounce, in addition to a 4-coin set which contains one coin in each denomination.

The obverse of these beautiful gold bullion coins feature the famous coin sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ dramatic depiction of Liberty with her hair flowing gently as she bears a torch in her right hand and holds an olive branch in her left. The coin's reverse format, designed by sculptor Miley Busiek, features a rendition male eagle clutching a branch, while he flies above a nest which holds young eagle hatchlings and their mother.
