What is a good gift for my god son, who is also my nephew?
I have both a Niece and a Nephew.
I have been buying my Niece the Silver Eagle proof coin from the U.S. Mint every year. I have been getting her other things too, like toys and such. But I really enjoy getting her the coin.
My Nephew is a new arrival and I was named his Godmother. I don't want to get him the same coin, yet I want to keep it in the same price range, about 40.00.
I would like the gift to be similar to the coin, something that comes out once a year and will hopefully appreciate in value.
If anyone out there has any ideas, please let me know.

The US Mint gives you a few options. They have a US Mint Silver Uncirculated or Proof sets, usually several commemorative silver coins, medals, etc. There are also what are called “silver rounds” which are 1 troy ounce of fine silver and sell for about the price of an ounce of silver which is currently around $14, but the mint does not make or sell these. The second link is just one place to find them, and there are several designs each year. You might consider a foreign silver coin like the silver Canadian Maple Leaf. I hope that helps.
